The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra will return to Elon University as part of its Burlington Series to perform “Down Home with the Carolina Pops” at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 28 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts.
The Burlington Series stars Grammy Award-winner David Holt, along with Jim and Katharine Mathus from the Squirrel Nut Zippers and the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble. Tunes from The Carter Family, Earl Scruggs, Thelonius Monk, Les Brown, Doc Watson, James Taylor and others will celebrate 70 years of North Carolina music.
Tickets for the performance are $15 for balcony seats, $20 for orchestra seats, $5 for student seats or free with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
