Homecoming Reunion Weekend set for November 7-9

The annual alumni gala party, a pep rally and fireworks show on Friday night and a football game against Appalachian State University are some of the highlights of Elon’s Homecoming Reunion Weekend, Nov. 7-9.

Homecoming activities are set to begin Friday, Nov. 7. Highlights of the day include an alumni golf tournament, a volleyball game against Western Carolina University, a campus bus tour and a pep rally and fireworks show at 8 p.m. in Rhodes Stadium.

The Chaplain’s breakfast and an Alumni Association gathering will start the day on Saturday, Nov. 8. Tailgating activities begin at noon on The Green behind Moseley Center. The Phoenix football team will host Appalachian State in a 2 p.m. game at Rhodes Stadium, where the halftime show will feature marching band alumni performing with “The Fire of the Carolinas,” Elon’s marching band.

After the football game, the Phoenix volleyball team will play Appalachian State University and the alumni gala will take place in Moseley Center from 8 p.m. until midnight. The event will feature the sounds of “Johnny White and the Elite Band.” A Graduates of the Last Decade party will feature Dan Ridley ’93, “DJ Dan,” who will play the latest hits.

Other Saturday events include a performance of “Anything Goes” by the Department of Performing Arts and a mixer for alumni, faculty, and staff. On Sunday, Nov. 9, deceased alumni will be remembered during an 11 a.m. memorial service at Elon Community Church. Homecoming activities conclude on Sunday afternoon with a second performance of “Anything Goes” at 2 p.m. in McCrary Theatre.
