Elon monitors Hurricane Isabel

National Weather Service forecasts continue to indicate that Elon will be on the edge of Hurricane Isabel's path. The Emergency Response Team has met and made all preparations to deal with effects of the storm. Read this note for details...

All University classes and activities, including Family Weekend events, are expected to proceed on a normal schedule.

Should Isabel move further west into the Piedmont region, the University’s response plan will be activated. In that scenario, Moseley Center will remain open 24 hours and will be the designated shelter for off-campus students.

In the event the University must cancel classes or other activities, students are advised to remain in their residences and inform others of their whereabouts if they must travel. As a precautionary measure, students will want to have working flashlights. Students living off-campus should have bottled water and nonperishable food available.
