A brief ceremony was held Thursday, Dec. 11 to dedicate a bench on the east side of McMichael Science building in memory of George Sleek, associate professor of physical therapy, who died in April. Details...
Rachel Sleek and the couple’s son, Max, born in September, attended the ceremony, along with faculty, staff and numerous students. The ceremony, led by Elon Chaplain Richard McBride, offered a chance for Sleek’s friends and colleagues to remember him. McBride closed the ceremony with a prayer and in keeping with Elon tradition, each person touched the bench to dedicate it.
Several of Sleek’s former students honored their late professor by wearing special shirts printed with many of Sleek’s favorite sayings.
