A book detailing the 100-year history of the Jefferson Pilot Financial Company was donated to Elon’s Belk Library Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Seth Macon, a longtime Jefferson Pilot employee whose granddaughter, Carrie Macon, is a 2002 Elon alumna, made the presentation to librarian Kate Hickey. “Jefferson Pilot Financial, 1903-2003: A Century of Excellence,” was written by Jeffrey Rodengren and Richard Hubbard. The book chronicles the growth and development of the Greensboro, N.C.-based company.
Macon met with John Burbridge, dean of the Love School of Business, and Tom Tiemann, director of Elon’s Jefferson Pilot Fellows program, during his campus visit. Ron Pittman with Jefferson Pilot made the book donation possible.
