Garcia is the award-winning author of Dreaming in Cuban as well as the acclaimed The Aguero Sisters and Monkey Hunting. A former Time and Miami bureau chief, she left Havana with her family when she was two and grew up in New York City. Garcia will share her writing and explore the complexities of dual cultural identity and the immigrant experience.
