“The Vagina Monologues,” an award-winning series of soliloquies originally written and performed by playwright Eve Ensler, will be performed at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15 in Whitley Auditorium on the Elon University campus. The performances are sponsored by the Women’s/Gender Studies Program.
“The Vagina Monologues” is based on interviews with women of different ages, nationalities, ethnicities and circumstances. The monologues, which celebrate the joy and occasional despair of being a woman, will be performed by Elon students.
Tickets will be on sale at the door for $7 or $5 for those with valid Elon identification. As part of the National V-Day campaign to stop violence against women, proceeds will benefit CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center in Burlington.
