USA Today features Elon

Elon's study abroad program was the subject of a feature story in the Monday, Feb. 2 edition of USA Today. The story, which ran on the cover of the LIFE section, focused on the Winter Term course, Field Biology in Belize. Details...

The course, led by faculty members Nancy Harris and Janet MacFall,
included 19 students. USA Today higher education reporter Mary Beth Marklein spent eight days with the group, participating in every aspect of the course. Activities included studying plants, animals and insects
in the rain forest, visiting communities in Belize, exploring Mayan architectural sites and conducting studies on the coral reef at Ambergris Caye.

Marklein also interviewed Bill Rich, dean of international programs, for the story.

In addition to Harris, MacFall and Rich, Marklein quoted students Chrissie Edwards, Matt Dawson, Courtney Smith, Ben Johnson, Matt Gannon, Shane Kelly, Amy Jo Jenkins and Monica Van Dongen.
