In his latest book, “The Ethics of Globalization,” Singer examines four issues from an ethical perspective, including climate change, the role of the World Trade Organization, human rights and foreign aid.
In his Elon address, Singer will discuss the claim that all human life should be valued equally and how this affects our moral obligations towards the world’s poorest people.
The author of many internationally known books, Singer is the founding President of the International Association of Bioethics. He is the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University. Singer holds degrees from the University of Melbourne and Oxford University.
Singer’s appearance is sponsored by the Liberal Arts Forum, a student organization funded by Elon’s Student Government Association. Members of the forum select and host speakers on a variety of topics.
