Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business invite you to a talk in McCrary Theater at 2:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 to hear Dr. Laszlo Molnar. Dr. Molnar is the Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations in New York. Before being appointed to his current position, Ambassador Molnar served for more than two years as the Consul General of the Republic of Hungary.
Ambassador Molnar is the current chair of the Preparatory Committee (PrepCom) for the 2005 Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The PrepCom assesses the implementation of each article of the NPT and facilitates discussion among states party to the treaty prior to the conference.
The topic of Ambassador Molnar’s talk will be “The Review Process of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons-Problems, Progress, Prospects”. In a recent appearance at the Fletcher School at Tufts, he offered the “inside scoop” on the preparations for the 2005 Review, and will provide similar insight at Elon.
His presentation is free and open to all members of the community.
