Igdalsky, an Elon alumnus, received a replica of the plaque on behalf of his grandparents. Igdalsky serves as manager of South Boston (Va.) Speedway, and praised the preparation he said received from an Elon education.

“I’m very grateful to be a part of Elon and this program, and we hope to be for years to come,” Igdalsky said.

The plaque is located just inside the front entrance of Long building, home of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. It reads:

“Elon University recognizes Dr. Joe and Dr. Rose Mattioli and the Pocono Raceway for their continuous and loyal support of ‘The Business of NASCAR’ course and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.”

President Leo M. Lambert praised the Mattioli family for being “special friends of the university. They have been great financial stewards of Elon and The Business of NASCAR course.”
