Soprano Rosa Lamoreaux, trumpeter Wolfgang Basch and organist John Butt will perform at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30 in Whitley Auditorium, located on the Elon University campus. They will perform works from composers such as Scarlatti, Telemann and Bach, as well as traditional American spirituals.
Lamoreaux is the winner of the Handel Aria Competition at the Aspen Music Festival. She has appeared with such orchestras as the Atlanta and Cincinnati symphonies and has graced the stages of renowned concert halls worldwide, including The Kennedy Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Library of Congress.
Basch has been the principal trumpeter of the Museums Orchestra, Frankfurt/Main since 1976.
Butt, chairman of the music department at Glasgow University in Scotland, is in great demand as an organist, conductor and harpsichordist of early music.
