The Russian National Ballet will perform an adaptation of the classic play “Don Quixote” at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 16 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus. The performance is part of the Anne Ellington Powell Master Artists Series.
In this adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes’ classic tale, it is Quixote’s muse who takes center stage as he facilitates the happy marriage of two lovers.
Founded in Moscow in the late 1980s, the ballet’s repertoire includes such classics as “Swan Lake,” “Sleeping Beauty,” and “The Nutcracker,” along with music from Mozart and Bach. The ballet has 35 dancers and is directed by Vladimir Moiseev.
