Pranab Das will present a paper at the European Society for Studies in Science and Theology annual meeting in Barcelona on April 3.
His paper is titled “Going Beyond Three: The Challenges of Higher-Dimensional Space.”
In it, he discusses the history of the concept of space and its importance in the construction of science during the Enlightenment. He also outlines contemporary developments in theoretical physics and the likelihood that the universe is not 3-dimensional but may have as many as 11 spatial dimension. The talk concludes with an inquiry into the philosophical and theological implications of such a high-dimensional world.
