A review of a book co-authored by Melinda Rice, associate professor of education, was reviewed recently in Dyslexia Discourse, the newsletter of the New York branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
Rice and co-author Joanne Carlisle wrote “Improving Reading Comprehension: Research-Based Principles and Practice.” The book provides techniques for teaching reading comprehension and the theories and research-based principles behind the activities.
The review, by Virginia Clammer, recommends the book for reading comprehension professionals.
“There is much to be digested in this volume,” Clammer writes, “which is one teachers and specialists would be wise to read and revisit.”
