Frank Haith, a Burlington native and 1988 Elon graduate, was named head men’s basketball coach at the University of Miami (Fla.) Monday, April 12.
Haith, who has spent 16 years as an assistant coach at the college level, took the Miami job after spending the past three years as assistant and associate head coach at the University of Texas. During that time, the Longhorns went 73-27 and advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2003.
Haith worked as a student coach and part-time assistant coach at Elon shortly after graduation. He and his wife, the former Pam Brown, have a son, Corey.
