Eight city leaders from Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Mexico, will visit the Elon campus Thursday, April 15 to learn more about the university and its programs.
Representatives from the city, a suburb of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, are visiting campus as part of their trip to sign a sister city agreement with officials from Burlington. The agreement will benefit both cities, says Brian Nienhaus, assistant professor of business administration and a member of the Burlington Sister City committee. Business leaders and professionals from Burlington and Soledad de Graciano Sánchez will have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs and share ideas.
Nienhaus says Elon may also have a role in the arrangement as well. Internship and exchange programs could be arranged in the future between Elon students and students at the San Luis campus of the Technological University of Monterrey or the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.
