Accounting professor Art Cassill was quoted in an April 18 Greensboro News & Record article about things taxpayers can do now to make their tax returns easier next year.
The story, by Alamance bureau reporter Mark Tosczak, suggested better record keeping, electronic filing and changing withholding options as some of the ways taxpayers can make the process easier.
“Most taxpayers, if they kept better records and if they planned better along the way, they’d be better off,” Cassill says in the story.
Cassill also encourages the purchase of taxpaying software for the tax season as soon as it becomes available, usually in early November. By doing so, taxpayers who want to file their own returns can become comfortable with the software long before the April 15 deadline approaches.
