Sadie Allen, environmental services custodian, won first place in the poetry category in the 2004 Alamance Community College Writers’ Contest. Allen received a $100 cash award April 27 during the college’s arts and sciences convocation.
Winners were recognized in four writing categories, including poetry, personal essay, academic essay and narrative story. More than 140 entries were submitted.
