Twenty-three students received Master of Physical Therapy degrees during Commencement ceremonies held Sunday, May 2 in Whitley Auditorium. Details...
The commencement address was delivered by Joseph Black, senior vice president of the American Physical Therapy Association. The overall outstanding student award was presented to Jon Gerenski; Michelle Moody received the outstanding clinical award; and the outstanding research award went to Kristi Baxley.
The graduating class also honored late professor George Sleek, who died in 2003. A chair with cap and gown was left empty in honor of Sleek, and each graduate wore blue ribbons honoring the September 2003 birth of Max Sleek, George and Rachel Sleek’s son.
This is Elon’s final class of MPT graduates. With the transition of the physical therapy field to a doctoral degree, Elon’s next physical therapy graduation will be Dec. 11, 2005, when the charter DPT class will graduate.
