Johanna Snowberger, a freshman from Summerfield, N.C., has qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) national finals. The event will be held May 7-9 at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, and Snowberger will represent Elon by marching in the opening parade of riders at the event. She is the first Elon equestrian member to qualify for the IHSA national finals.
Riding in the open division, Snowberger qualified for the IHSA finals by recording top finishes in both regional and zone finals. During the year, she received multiple high point rider awards as the rider receiving the most points in her class.
Elon’s club equestrian team competes in the same region as other area universities, including Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and North Carolina State.
