Students enrolled in Elon’s dance program will offer a dance technique showcase from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 11 in the large dance studio, located in the Koury Center on campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
“The dance program at Elon has been growing tremendously in the past couple of years,” says Shouze Ma, assistant professor of dance and dance coordinator.
Dance majors are admitted by audition only. The dance program offers four different forms of dance technique classes with three levels and 15 sections. Classes offered include Dance Repertory, Dance for Musical on Stage, Introduction to Dance and Choreography.
The program has 22 dance majors, 37 dance minors and more than 600 students took dance classes during the 2003-2004 academic year. The Elon dance program was represented at the American College Dance Festival in March and is a member of ACDFA.
