Phoenix14News is back in the national spotlight, this time adding a Bronze Telly Award to the show’s display case. The award was received for the show’s 2004 graphics and animation package, designed by P.J. Buckley and Scott Myrick. The addition of the Bronze Telly marks the second award received this year for the show’s graphic redesign, bringing the total number of awards received by the show to six.
The package includes more than 30 original still graphic and animated elements that can be seen week to week on the live broadcast. The entire effort was completed in a three-week period during January 2004.
Phoenix14News was chosen for this honor out of more than 10,000 entries from around the globe. Previous winners of the Telly Award competition include MSNBC, TBS Superstation, ESPN, Animal Planet, QVC, and Turner Classic Movies. Elon Television’s Touchdown Phoenix Football has previously been honored with the award.
