Foxx participating in NASCAR diversity internship program

Kerry Foxx, a rising Elon senior, is one of 30 college students participating in NASCAR’s diversity internship program, which provides practical work experience for students in the stock car racing industry.

Foxx, a business administration major with a concentration in international business management, is working in the licensing department at Roush Racing. He will focus on special programs, licensing administration and trademark usage.

In a recent newsletter published by Roush, Foxx said he has already gained valuable experience.

“Roush Racing is providing me a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of what it takes to field a team every week,” Foxx said. “I’ve already been able to participate in several projects relating to marketing, licensing and sponsorship.”

Foxx said he’s looking forward to seeing his first live NASCAR race this summer.

“I can’t wait to see what it is like to have 43 cars go by at close to 200 mph and seeing the reaction (of the fans).”

Foxx serves as president of the Elon Gospel Choir and as an SGA senator.
