Das reports on global perspectives program

Pranab Das, professor of physics, reports that his travels to Eastern Europe and Asia for the Global Perspectives on Science and Spirituality program have gone well.

Das will soon return to campus after 77 days in nine different countries. He has met with more than 100 academics and university officials in the pursuit of applications for the program.

He secured a $2 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation to support research in the field of science and spirituality. Das will serve as program director and principal investigator for Global Perspectives on Science and Spirituality, an international project that will provide research support for non-Western scholars.

Das also reports that he has experienced a typhoon in Seoul and a mild earthquake in Tokyo, in addition to 11 airplane flights and overnight train and ferry trips!
