Members of the Class of 1956 have announced the $250,000 Great Alumni Challenge! They encourage all alumni to participate in this important effort. For each new gift from a donor who has not given in the past four years, members of the Class of 1956 will give Elon $100, regardless of the size of the gift. For each current donor who increases his or her gift this year, they will give $100, regardless of the size of the increase.

The Class of 1956 hopes to attract 2,500 new or increased gifts during this challenge, which, with the matching funds, would bring in $250,000 to Elon.

The Great Alumni Challenge is an effort to increase alumni participation in annual giving. Approximately 40 percent of alumni at Elon’s peer institutions provide their alma mater with annual financial support. Elon’s alumni participation rate is 29.5 percent.

The Class of 1956 challenges Elon alumni to show their pride in their alma mater and reach 40% participation.

Elon’s alumni participation rate is an important measure of alumni satisfaction and is also used in national rankings and in funding decisions by foundations and corporations.

Thank you for your participation in the Great Alumni Challenge!
