Two Elon University seniors have been announced as winners of the “Extreme Professional Makeover Contest,” co-sponsored by the Elon University Career Center and the Colonial Mall of Burlington. Kyle Ostendorf, a communications major, and Alicia Cambria, an international studies major, were selected based on short essays submitted to a review panel at Colonial Mall.
In addition to helping the students with professional dress for their job search, the Career Center is offering each winner a complete resume review, individual career consulting and practice video interviews. Each student also received a copy of the 2004 edition of Richard Bolles’ “What Color is Your Parachute?”
Many of the businesses at Colonial Mall are participating. The winners will each receive a new hairstyle, a new suit and other clothing, and an assortment of other gifts and prizes from merchants. Before and after photographs will be taken by Sears Portrait Studios and winners will be featured in the Times News and the Pendulum.
