On Oct. 19, the City Council approved the sale of the building to a subsidiary of the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Under contracts being developed, the Bryan Foundation would lease the building to Elon for $1 a year. After ten years, ownership of the building would be turned over to the university. The former library is located at the corner of Friendly Avenue and Greene Street.

Trustees will consider the law school issue at their annual fall meeting, Oct. 29-30. Bryan Foundation president Jim Melvin is leading the fund raising efforts, and says he is nearing the $10 million goal.
