Judy Richardson will share her memories of people who led and participated in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s during a lecture titled “Will the Circle Be Unbroken: Lessons of the Civil Rights Movement,” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4 in Whitley Auditorium on the Elon campus. The event, sponsored by the Liberal Arts Forum and Multicultural Student Council, is free and open to the public.
Richardson is co-producer of the critically acclaimed documentary “Eyes on the Prize,” a comprehensive look at the Civil Rights Movement. The first six parts of the documentary aired on PBS in 1987, while the eight-part sequel was broadcast in 1990. Her presentation will focus on people she worked with during voter registration and desegregation campaigns in the South, and the empowering influence they have had on her life.
