Janie Brown, professor of physical education, at right in photo, received a lifetime achievement award from the North Carolina Physical Education Association (NCPEA), one of the six associations that make up the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NCAAHPERD). She received the award Nov. 19 at the NCAAHPERD annual conference in Greensboro.
The NCPEA Lifetime Service Award is presented annually to an individual who meets the following criteria:
- More than 20 years of teaching or work in the field of physical education
- Membership and involvement in the NCPEA
- Significant leadership in the profession
- Service as an advocate for physical education in North Carolina.
