Renowned pianist Steven Mayer will present a concert featuring works by Mozart, Liszt and Gottschalk at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8 in Whitley Auditorium on the Elon University campus. The concert is part of the Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series, sponsored by the Times-News and Elon University.
Winner of the third Carnegie Hall International American Piano Competition, Mayer has garnered rave reviews. His program will take the audience on a riveting journey through the 1930s and 1940s, with a unique repertoire by classic jazz legends Art Tatum, Jelly Roll Morton and Fats Waller.
Tickets for the concert are $15 or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
