Tom Flood, superintendent of landscaping and grounds, graduated from the Institute for Facilities Management in January. Conducted by the Association of Higher Education Facilities Offices (APPA), the institute is composed of extensive training in four core areas; General Administration & Management, Maintenance & Operations, Energy & Utilities and Facilities Planning, Design & Construction. The required and elective curricula provide a comprehensive examination of facilities management in higher education and requires a minimum of two years to complete.
