During halftime of Elon’s 58-55 men’s basketball victory over Appalachian State Feb. 26, Phoenix head softball coach Patti Raduenz presented Alan White, athletics director, and Jeanne Robertson, an Elon University trustee, with her USA Baseball Women’s National Team game jersey. It will be displayed in the athletics facilities.
Raduenz was a player on the first-ever USA Baseball Women’s National Team last summer. She helped the US win the gold medal at the first International Baseball Federation World Cup of Women’s Baseball with a 2-0 championship game victory over Japan in Edmonton last August. She hit the first two triples in USA Baseball Women’s National Team history and became one of only two players on the squad to play every inning at the same position (first base) and bat in the same spot in the lineup throughout the summer.
