Building Community Online

Description: An online or virtual community is a gathering of people in an online ‘space’ who come, communicate and connect. In this workshop, we’ll explore the definition of community, examine the benefits of creating communities, see how to develop community in an existing environment, and experience sample online communities.

Description: In addition to the specifics of how to create online discussion forums, this workshop explains the do’s and don’ts of participating in and facilitating online discussions. Learn to design and effectively moderate a forum and become familiar with the terminology involved and management techniques.
