Ashley Biscoe, Mary Caruso, Geoff Lynn and Rachel Naumann miss San Diego already. Yesterday morning, they awoke to 70 degree temperatures and clear blue skies; yesterday evening, they landed in Raleigh in chilly pre-wintry weather.
These chemistry students just spent 4 days attending the National American Chemical Society meeting in San Diego, where they presented the results of their research efforts with mentors Dr. Joel Karty (Rachel and Geoff) and Dr. Karl Sienerth (Mary and Ashley).
The students also attended the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society Awards banquet, where they accepted the “Commendable” award on behalf of Elon’s affiliate group (the Chemistry Club).
