Artist David Rosand will speak at 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 8 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.
An esteemed specialist on the Venetian Renaissance painter Titian, Rosand has written four books about the artist, as well as books on modern artist Robert Motherwell and recently “Myths of Venice: The Figuration of a State.” The Meyer Schapiro Professor of Art History at Columbia University, Rosand has received the Great Teacher Award of the Society of Columbia Graduates and is currently working on a digital imaging project dealing with Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican.
Rosland’s appearance, which is free and open to the pubic, is part of the Art History at Elon Speaker Series.
