Campus Recreation students receive national honors

Six Campus Recreation students attended the 2005 NIRSA National Conference April 5-9 in Orlando, FL. This year’s conference had a record number of over 2,000 attendees.

Amy Jo Jenkins and Elizabeth Chmelo were two of four undergraduates in Region II to receive the William N. Wasson Student Leadership and Academic Award.

In addition, three students are pursuing graduate assistantships in campus recreation. Rachel McNally will attended James Madison University as a graduate assistant in facilities, while Bret Tice and Amy Jo Jenkins are evaluating offers they have received.

Campus recreation also presented “Join Our Party” Substance Education in Campus Recreation.

In addition, Campus Recreation received 1st and 2nd place for Fitness and Club Sport categories in the annual T-shirt competition.
