Students, faculty present at psychology conference

On Saturday April 16, several psychology majors presented research at the Carolinas Psychology Conference, hosted by N.C. State University.

Jackie Nelson, Charity Bumpass, and Melissa Taylor gave a presentation titled “Parent-child Interactions in Literacy and Play Activities”; Michael Ransom presented work titled “The Use of SIMON as a Standardized Measure of Working Memory Span”; and Phoebe Lott and Dana Timmons presented work titled “Cognitive Style and Learning Behaviors”. In addition, Mathew Gendle, assistant professor of psychology, moderated a session on learning and cognition.

Celebrating its 30th year, the Carolinas Psychology Conference is one of the oldest and largest forums in the U.S. for undergraduate research in psychology.
