Somers elected NACAS-South secretary

The National Association of College Auxiliary Services-South (NACAS-South) is pleased to announce the re-election of Vickie Somers, director of auxiliary services at Elon, as Secretary during the 2005 Annual Conference held recently in Covington, Ky. NACAS-South works to advance the profession of auxiliary and business services in higher education. NACAS-South provides member representatives an avenue to support their institutions’ missions through enhanced professional development and expanded networking opportunities.

Also assuming leadership positions were Keith Chapman of Georgia Perimeter College as President; Bill Redwine of Morehead State University as President-Elect; Kelly Carroll of Tulane University as Vice President; Robert Ritenbaugh of Alabama A&M University as Treasurer; Jim Hudson of Furman University as Southern Representative to the National Board; and Ben Crutcher of the University of Kentucky, Eddie Mills of Florida International University and Peter Burke of North Carolina State University as Regional Coordinators.

The Southern region encompasses 12 states: Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Mississippi.

The National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS), headquartered in Charlottesville, Va., is the largest auxiliary services support organization serving higher education. Membership includes colleges and universities throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
