Student awarded Phi Kappa Phi graduate fellowship

Math and Theatre Arts major Aja Johnson has been awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship for 2005-06. She will receive $5,000 for her work toward a doctorate degree in math.

Johnson is one of only 18 students selected from across the nation for the summer math program at Carleton College. She has also been active in undergraduate research at Elon, presenting her work at several professional meetings.

She was also recognized at the Phi Kappa Phi awards and induction ceremony April 18 in McKinnon Hall.

Phi Kappa Phi recognizes academic excellence in all fields of higher education. The organization annually awards 60 fellowships to deserving students.
