Costello to produce media festival awards ceremony

Vic Costello, associate professor in the School of Communications, has been named producer for the 4th annual BEA Festival of Media Arts awards ceremony in Las Vegas. The awards ceremony will take place during the Broadcast Education Association’s annual convention in April 2006.

The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international peer-review competition for faculty and student video and multimedia productions. The competition is sponsored by the King Foundation and Avid Technology, which awards $1,000 and Avid Editing software to the Best of Festival winners in fourteen production categories. Jay McMerty, senior video producer for Elon Television, will serve as the reel producer for the awards ceremony. Linda Lashendock, assistant director of instructional technology services and Elon Television, will assist in the production effort.
