David Noble, a Greensboro, N.C., attorney who recently started his own law practice, is the first recipient of the News & Record Elon MBA Fellowship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.
The Greensboro News & Record has established the full-tuition fellowship, which will be awarded each year to one enrolling student in January and another in August. Elon MBA applicants from the News & Record’s 11-county home delivery area will automatically be considered for the fellowship. A committee will select students based on demonstrated academic ability, professional leadership and managerial skills. Fellows must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete a minimum number of MBA courses during each year. Fellows must complete the MBA program in three years.
“The News & Record is proud to support the development of future business leaders through this scholarship program,” said News & Record president and publisher Robin Saul. “We hope our continued partnership with Elon University will stimulate leadership and growth in the communities we serve.”

Noble previously worked with the Greensboro firm Schell Bray Aycock Abel & Livingston. He is active in the community as a volunteer for the United Way and the United Arts Council of Greensboro. He is a member of the executive committee for the 2005 Greensboro Jaycees Chrysler Classic golf tournament. He received a law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2001 and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northeastern University in 1998.
