David Crowe, professor of history, has recently been appointed to the Advisory Group of the Roma Diplomacy project, which is sponsored by the DiploFoundation and the European Roma Information Office in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Advisory Group, which is made up of members of the European Parliament and prominent Roma leaders and specialists from throughout Europe, will assist in the development of educational programs designed to create a strong group of Roma “public diplomats” with the ability to bridge the gap between Roma civil society and European governments and European Union institutions.
The Advisory Group’s members will also present papers and conduct workshops at the project’s conferences in Brussels and Geneva. In the interim, Advisory Group members will be working closely with the 25 Roma postgraduates, helping them with project papers and other assignments.
