Senior physics major Michelle Snyder has received the “Best Student Paper” award for a presentation given at a sectional meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers. She competed against students from institutions throughout North Carolina presenting their own physics research. Six physics majors, two faculty members, and one alumnus represented Elon at the meeting held on the University of North Carolina-Pembroke campus.
Ms. Snyder’s poster, entitled ” Exploring New Perturbative Techniques,” summarized her summer research conducted as part of the National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Undergraduates program. Her certificate and cash prize will be presented at the spring NCS-AAPT meeting.
