Carol Smith, assistant professor of health and human performance, has been named president-elect of the N.C. Physical Education Association (NC PEA). NC PEA is one of the six associations that make up NCAAAHPERD, with a mission “to promote and support North Carolina physical education through advocacy, professional development and education to develop physically educated individuals and support a physically active North Carolina.” Smith served as college/university representative for three years and just finished a one-year term as vice president of NC PEA.
Smith and senior John Pasquariello co-presented a lecture titled “A photographic journey through eastern Australia.” Their slide show and discussion was based on an Australian trip two winters ago with Smith’s Australia Eco-tourism class.
