Marc Miller, a senior test engineer for Volvo Trucks North America in Greensboro, has been named the second recipient of the News & Record Elon MBA Fellowship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.
The News & Record established the full-tuition fellowship in 2005. It is awarded twice each year, once in January and again in August. Elon MBA applicants from the News & Record’s 11-county home delivery area are automatically considered for the fellowship.
Finalists are selected based on demonstrated academic ability, professional leadership and management skills. Fellows must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete the program within three years.
“The News & Record has a long-standing commitment to education in the Triad,” said Publisher Robin Saul. “We are equally committed to this area’s economic development and viability. To help ensure that viability, the News & Record is doing its part to encourage and nurture future business leaders through this unique partnership with Elon University.”
Miller graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from N.C. A&T State University in 1998 and worked seven years at the Dana Corp. in Statesville before relocating to the Triad and beginning work with Volvo.
Miller lives in Burlington.
Last year, the News & Record and Elon University announced David Noble, a Greensboro attorney, as the first recipient of this scholarship program.
