White received the award from the Sports Development Council, which operates under the Burlington/Alamance County Convention and Visitors Bureau, during the luncheon at Alamance Country Club.
The award honors White’s role in bringing recognition to Alamance County through Elon’s successful athletics program, and his contributions to the county’s sports scene.
White is in his 23rd year as Elon’s athletics director. He has guided the program through the transition from NAIA membership to its current NCAA Division I status. During his career, Elon teams have won four national championships and numerous conference titles.
