Anderson on sabbatical in Ghana

Anderson is working at the Ghana Center for Democratic Development, regarded by the International Center for Transitional Justice as the “premier think tank on democratic development on the African continent.” Anderson has been given the responsibilty of writing the conclusion and executive summary for a CDD report to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) on “Monitoring Progress Towards Good Governance: National Country Report for Ghana.”

Anderson will also give a major lecture and conduct a discussion roundtable for key government and civil society leaders on “Current U.S. Foreign Policy: Implications for Africa.” He will also conduct interviews with members of Parliament, ministry officials, civil society leaders and general citizens on their perceptions of the state of Ghana’s democracy and the role of the current reconciliation commission in further enhancing democratic stability.

Anderson will also interview staff and commissioners associated with the National Reconciliation Commission, which began its work Sept. 3. He will return to the United States around Thanksgiving.
