Das to speak at Kazakhstan conference

Pranab Das, associate professor of physics, has accepted an invitiation to deliver a keynote address at an international conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Das will speak to the UNESCO-sponsored meeting Sept. 19-20. Titled “Science and Spirit Along the Silk Roads,” the colloquium will bring education, science and religion scholars together to promote dialogue between universities in Central Asia.

Das will present opening remarks and the keynote address on Thursday, Sept. 19. He will chair a plenary session on Friday, Sept. 20 and present a paper titled “The Intellect and Free Will: Perspectives from the History of Science, Islam and Christianity.”
