Bill DeJournett, director of the “Fire of the Carolinas” marching band, has joined the board of directors of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. This youth organization based in Fort Mill, S.C., fields a 133-piece competitive drum and bugle corps every summer. Additionally, the Crown organization works in conjunction with Charlotte-area high schools to host several honor band clinics. The Crown organization hosts two drum corps shows each summer, NightBeat in Charlotte and the Piedmont Summer Music Games in Winston-Salem.
